Top Tip For Cancelling Your Credit Report Free Trial

Always phone the relevant customer services team to cancel your free trial.  That way instead of waiting for a reply to your e-mail or letter, which may or may not have been received, you can obtain verbal confirmation from a member of staff that your subscription has been cancelled immediately.  Remember to make a note of the date and time of your conversation and the full name of whoever you speak to.

Cancelling Your CallCredit Free Trial

It's important to know that the CallCredit subscription is quarterly and not monthly, so if you don't cancel during the free trial period you will have to pay the full quarterly subscription fee.

Unfairly, you will also lose access to your credit report from the moment you cancel the subscription, even if the free trial period or quarterly subscription hasn't officially finished.  This is not the case with Equifax or Experian, who both allow access until the trial period or monthly subscription has finished.

To cancel your Call Credit Check subscription contact their customer services team on 0113 244 1555.

Cancelling Your Experian Free Trial

To cancel your Credit Expert subscription contact Experian customer services team on this freephone number 0800 561 0083.  Experian's opening hours are 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am to 1pm on Saturday.

The number provided for Callcredit above will not allow you to cancel your subscription for Callcredit Check; they're unable to accept cancellations by telephone. You can cancel your subscription yourself by logging into your account, clicking "account details" and then "cancel subscription". It is fairly straightforward really, they're not exactly hiding it from you! Otherwise, you can just email them at the address above and they can do it for you. The 28 day period quoted is to cover themselves just in case, it's highly unlikely that it would actually take 28 days for them to get back to you.

The bottom line, as with anything, is read your T&Cs and have a look around to see if you can do something yourself first.

I've been trying to get a credit report for myself out of CallCredit for 4 weeks now. Their on-line system won't give me a report, I've downloaded a postal application form and posted it to them two weeks ago without reply. I've called their round and round the houses phone number and can't get to speak to a human being but am advised to email them at an info@ email address that is neither acknowledged or replied to.

I suspect they are causing me a problem with a loan application I'm making through the Co-Op Bank but not sure as I can't see the report.

Any one any sensible suggestions?

Thanks, that script just helped me. In my experience, Equifax has been the best with Call Credit falling so far short of anything you could call a reasonable service (they're called "Call Credit" yet no number is available to call on the website!!) and if you do get a number they just ask you to email with a 28 day lead time on emails. I don't know why but they feel & behave like a company that is ripping of consumers and should be on watchdog.
